The Historic Dockyard Chatham
Museum interpretation, gallery design, large format graphics, conceptual design, tourism.
We have produced no less than ten completely different design solutions for the temporary gallery space in The Historic Dockyard. Each brief has a stringent set of requirements that must be adhered to.
There are many different layers to successful exhibition design. The initial visual impact; practical solutions to display the collections; designing traffic flow and ensuring the visitor experience is an engaging, memorable and educational one.
Illustrated here is an exhibition commemorating and recognising the Naval men and women who fought at sea in the First World War. The design had to be powerful, imposing, respectful and sombre as much of what was displayed was about loss. Our large angular walls provided a perfect answer to this brief and served as an ideal backdrop for the human story that was told.
Visitors found the experience very moving and commentated on how immersive and engaging the design was.
Adding a theatrical theme to temporary exhibitions and galleries.
This defines our difference.
“I have worked with danny and the team on a number of temporary exhibitions for the historic dockyard. every design brief is completely different AND needs to reflect and complement the VISITING collection. The circus never disappoint and always provide new, engaging, original AND EXCITING ideas that make the visitor experience a memorable one. THEY ARE INVOLVED AT every stage AND ALWAYS SEE THE PROJECT RIGHT THROUGH TO COMPLETION. They MEET EVERY DEADLINE, are on budget AND always ExCEED OUR EXPECTATIONS.”
